Linda Ellena Simek
CARLISLE - Linda Ellena Simek, born October 29, 1948, passed away on August 17, 2024, surrounded by her family. Daughter of Nancy (Suppa) and Anthony Cafariella (deceased). Linda was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Lt. Col. Martin Simek, in 1966. Their life together, shaped by Martin's career in the Air Force, took them to many destinations around the world, where they enjoyed exploring with their daughter, Stephanie.
Linda's greatest joy was her daughter, Stephanie. Linda's passion for animals was a legacy she proudly passed on to her daughter. She took great pride in watching Stephanie become a Professional Wildlife Biologist and care for wild animals across the U.S. as she became Dr. Stephanie Simek -a testament to the values Linda cherished deeply.
After settling in Williamsburg, VA, Linda channeled her passions for food and home decor by opening and running Grumpy's restaurant and The Enchanted Castle for many years. Some in Williamsburg will also remember her with her beloved golden retriever, Timber. Linda was an 18 year resident of Williamsburg, VA before moving to Boiling Springs, PA.
Linda became a resident of Boiling Springs, PA in 2007 and remained a resident until her passing. She was an excellent chef and enjoyed hosting parties and holiday events, especially with family. She loved the area and the home she and Martin built in Boiling Springs.
She is survived by her husband, Martin; her daughter, Stephanie; her brother, Tony Cafariella (Elise); her sister, Nancy Vanderhoof (Walter); her goddaughter, Nancy Conklin (Peter); and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Prayer Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Hoffman Funeral and Cremation 2020 W. Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013. A visitation will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place on Saturday, August 24, 2024, in Williamsburg Memorial Gardens, Williamsburg, VA.
