Margaret Gilfillen Thompson, 84, of McAlisterville, died at 9 a.m. Sunday, July 16, 2006, at Brookline Manor, RR1, Mifflintown.
Born on Oct. 3, 1921, in McAlisterville, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late James S.G. Sr. and Anna Louise (Watts) Thompson.
She is survived by a brother, James S.G. Thompson Jr., and his wife, Marcia of McAlisterville, two nieces, three nephews, five great-nieces and six great-nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Thompson Snyder, and her husband, Ralph B. Snyder.
Ms. Thompson was a music teacher for various schools in the Steelton, Boiling Springs and Carlisle areas.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 22, in Mexico United Presbyterian Church on Old Route 322, Mexico, Pa., with the Rev. Carol Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Lost Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, McAlisterville.
Viewing will be from 4-9 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 7-9 p.m., in Brown Funeral Home, 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, and from 10-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ms. Thompson's memory to the Mexico United Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 387, Port Royal, PA 17082.
