Susan R. Trayer, 59, of Boiling Springs, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 11, 2013, at her home after a yearlong battle with breast cancer and sarcoma. She was born on Jan. 21, 1954, in Carlisle, the daughter of the late George L. and Jean R. (Hetrick) Trayer.
She was a 1972 graduate of Boiling Springs High School. Immediately after high school, Susan began working at McCoy Electronics in Mt. Holly Springs, which eventually became Vectron International. She was a faithful employee for 41 years. Susan enjoyed gardening, taking care of her home, and will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.
She is survived by one brother, George W. (wife, Carolyn) Trayer of Boiling Springs and two nephews; Jason L. Trayer of Boiling Springs and Joshua H. (wife, Julia Deitch) Trayer of Carlisle. Susan was predeceased by one niece, Sara E. Trayer.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastors Dennis Killinger and Richard Reese officiating. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery.
