Died: November 6, 2017; in DeKalb, IL
C. Robert "Bob" Sarver, 88, of DeKalb, Illinois, entered eternal life on Monday, November 6, 2017, at his home.
Born June 28, 1929 in Mulberry Grove, Illinois, the son of Elijah and Velma (Warren ) Sarver, Bob married Ursula Lemcke on November 26, 1955, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in DeKalb. Bob was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He farmed for many years and later worked for building services at Northern Illinois University from which he retired. Bob was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in DeKalb where he held many positions. He was a member of the DeKalb County Farm Bureau Prime Timers and the Livestock Feeder Association and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and as an election judge.
He is survived by his wife, Ursula; three daughters, Sylvia (Michael) Baker, Sandy Lancaster, Christel (Peter) Springmire; seven grandchildren, Molly (Jason) Bowen, Zachary Baker, Katie (Brian) Amoroso, Josh Lancaster, Jacob Lancaster, Dan Springmire, Laura (Luke) Venstrom; five great-grandchildren, Shawnee and Seneca Bowen and Samuel, Reid and Claire Venstrom; one sister, Rubye (Wayne) Peckert; one brother, Roger (Marilyn) Sarver; brother-in-law, Peter (Renate) Lemcke of Germany; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving, Robert and Ann Gilmore and Janis and Paul Sawyer and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents; eight sisters; four brothers; and Robert and Lillian Gilmore.
Bob's family would like to thank Dr. Thakkar, Kishwaukee Hospital nurses and respiratory therapists, and Lehans for their wonderful care.
The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2017, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 511 Russell Road, DeKalb, with the Rev. Ray Krueger officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the C. Robert Sarver Memorial Fund, addressed to the Sarver Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, Ltd., P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
