GEORGE DOUGLAS Obituary
Born Sept. 13, 1957, in Erie, Pa., the son of George and Judy (Lear) Douglas, George was a transmission-repair shop manager for many years before becoming a professional truck driver.
He was a 27-year member of Alcoholics Anonymous and a member of Christ Community Church, where he went to Bible study and was a community volunteer.
He is survived by his son, John (Michelle) Douglas; life friend, Barbara Wolf; grandchildren, Jessica (Andrew) Lawrence, C.J. King and Jerome Johnson; great-granddaughter, Anessa Lawrence; brothers, Kevin (Janet) Douglas and Steve (Mary) Douglas; sisters, Kim (Jason) Wagner and Terry (Tom) Klum; mother, Judy Douglas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, George; and sister, Debbie.
The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb. Cremation will follow at Anderson Funeral Home Crematory. The visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Anderson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the George A. Douglas Jr. Memorial Fund, sent in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 S. Fourth St., DeKalb, IL 60115.
