Sharon Petty

1979 - 2015

Sharon L. Petty (nee: Bennett) Age 73, of Homer Glen, passed away peacefully Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Chateau Center in Willowbrook from complications with Diabetes. She was born in Kansas City, living in Homer Glen since 1979. A retired Physical Education Teacher after many years of teaching. Sharon was a life member with the Girl Scouts in the Trailways Girl Scouts Council and was very active in the Circle of Love at the First United Methodist Church, Lockport. Preceded in death by her father Dale Bennett. Survived by her loving husband of 48 years Mike; her daughter Kim Petty; her mother Alliene (nee Gilpin) Bennett ; sisters Sandra Bennett and Gayle (Bill) Bennett-Grant and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated. Visitation for Sharon will be held Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the O'NEIL FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 1105 E. 9TH ST. (159TH ST.), LOCKPORT. Per Sharon's wishes, cremation rites will be respectfully addressed. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 10:30 am at the First United Methodist Church, 1000 S.
