Harold Allen Vigil Sr.
Aug. 17, 1940 - Dec. 8, 2009
Harold Allen Vigil Sr., 69, of Dulce, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, in Dulce. He was born Aug. 17, 1940, in Dulce, to Frank and Alice Vigil.
Mr. Vigil served in the U.S. Army. He lived in Phoenix, Dulce, Chicago and California. He also lived in Ignacio, Colo., and Shiprock on the Navajo Reservation. He later settled down in Dulce.
He enjoyed football and was a fan of the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed gaming at various casinos. He was a silversmith and did carpentry and a little bit of masonry. He enjoyed traveling.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Charlie.
He is survived by his children, Vickie Platero of Dulce, Victoria Sommerdorf of Jamestown, N.D., Veronica Charleson of Story City, Iowa, Marcinda Lou McVaugh of Bend, Ore., Harold A. Vigil Jr. of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Henrietta J. Guilmette of West Bridgeport, Vt.; former wife, Maebell Cody of Leupp, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today, Friday, Dec. 11, at Hood Mortuary, 1261 E. 3rd Ave., in Durango, Colo., with Deacon Larry Tucker officiating.
Interment will be at Greenmount Cemetery, 900 Cemetery Road, in Durango.
Memorial contributions may be made to Davita Durango Dialysis Center, 72 Suttle, Durango, CO 81303.
