M. Roger Brady, Jr.

HERTFORD - Martin Roger Brady, Jr., of Beech Point Drive, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

Mr. Brady, born in New York City on November 17, 1938, was the son of the late Martin Roger, Sr. and Evelyn Silkman Brady. A graduate of Fordham University, he retired as the Senior Director of the Bond Department at Swiss Reinsurance America Corporation. A member of St. Anne Catholic Church, he had served on the Parish Council, and on the Board of Governors at Albemarle Plantation. He was an Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Gail Brady; two daughters, Amanda Brady Vela and husband Daniel of Ashburn, VA and Carolyn Brady Kenny and husband Christopher of Alexandria, VA; a sister, Elizabeth Marotta of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY; a grandson due to be born in January and a granddaughter due to be born in March.

A memorial mass will be celebrated Monday, January 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anne Catholic Church Parish Hall and will be conducted by Father Carlos Arce and Deacon Frank Jones. Friends may join the family for a celebration of life reception at Albemarle Plantation immediately following the memorial mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Open Door Food Pantry, PO Box 721, Hertford, NC 27944.
