GREENVILLE -- Jack M. Berner, 92 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday June 30, 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Brethren Retirement Community. Jack was born on October 29, 1931 in Greenville, Ohio the son of the late Fred and Treva (Miller) Berner.
Jack served in the United States Navy Reserve; he worked for the Greenville City Fire Department retiring in 1984; he then owned and operated Jack Berner Realty.
Jack was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church; the Greenville Masonic Lodge # 143; Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton; he enjoyed fishing and hunting; he loved spending time with his grandkids and was actively involved in their activities.
Jack is preceded in death his parents; his wife, Janet Carol Berner on June 9, 2007 whom he married May 5, 1956; and his sisters, Pat Lindemuth and Phyllis Lindemuth.
Jack is survived by his children and spouses; Teresa and Don Rasmussen of Findlay, Ohio, Brad and Kim Berner of Greenville; his grandchildren, Cullen and Erin Rasmussen, Clayton and Gisoo Rasmussen, Lance and Morgan Berner, and Kami Berner; his great grandchildren, Atleigh, Sawyer, and Riley Rasmussen, Austin Berner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Jack will be held on Friday July 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 131 East Fourth Street, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Keith Menter officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services on Friday at the church. A Masonic Memorial Service and Scottish Rite Service will be conducted at the graveside service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Darke County Regional Training Facility.
