LaRue Shannon Obituary

LARUE RANSDELL JERRELLS SHANNON
Passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012. LaRue was born February 8, 1920 in Santa Paula, California. Her parents were Avadna and Davis Ransdell. LaRue graduated from Santa Paula High School in 1938 and moved to Los Angeles in 1939 to attend Beauty College. There she met her husband, Herb Jerrells, who was attending USC. They married in 1940 and Herb joined the Air Force where they traveled to many United States locations. They returned to Los Angeles after the service for Herb to teach at USC and LaRue to raise her two sons. She was very active in the Cub Scouts Pac 740C and Explorer Scouts 740. Herb passed away in 1959. LaRue married LeRoy Shannon in 1962. She became an active member of Alanon in 1973 and initiated several local meetings in her 38 years of service. LaRue is survived by her sons, Ron (Judy) Jerrells, Tom Jerrells; stepdaughter, Chic (Gordon) Stanley; granddaughters, Ronda Jerrells, Shawna (Brian) Bolognia, Heather Timineri and Kimberly DeBose; great-grandchildren Niko, Kayden, Danny, Ashley, Britanny and Lucas. At LaRue's wishes, her ashes will be scattered, by air, at Pt. Fermin in San Pedro, later this month. LaRue will be missed by her many friends and family.
