Saul Levine Obituary

Saul Levine

August 15, 1919 - November 29, 2015

Saul Levine passed away peacefully at the age of 96 in Torrance surrounded by his children and a number of his loved ones. Originally born in New York, he moved to California in his mid-teens. After serving in the U.S. Army at Fort MacArthur, he married and began his family in Torrance when the city was starting to flourish in the early 1950's. He owned a liquor store in Torrance, and then expanded to open a bar next door, the Sit'N Sip on Crenshaw Blvd. An enterprising man, he opened up a Real Estate office, Top Value Realty and was it's Broker for decades. Saul became an Honorary Lifetime member of the Torrance Lomita Carson Board of Realtors for his many years of membership. He loved sunshine and was an avid and long-time tennis player which he played until he was 88 years old. He also enjoyed playing poker with his buddies in the desert, singing Karaoke (or anywhere he felt the mood), telling mostly off-color jokes, and he loved ice cream, having a bowl after both lunch and dinner. Saul was a friend of everyone, and they all had nothing but kind and complimentary things to say about him. Saul is survived by his long-time companion, Lillian Nader; his son, Larry; daughter, Leslie; son-in-law, Dan McLoud, and twin grandchildren, Lex and Lacee Luxon. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bernee; his daughter, Laurie, and brother, Chuck. Services will be held at the chapel at Green Hills Memorial Park on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 3:00pm. Oh, Larry - I'm so sad for you ... Ive not seen a more dedicated and loving relationship such as you had with your dad -- You and he had such valuable days together... that must keep you happy inside , despite your lovely father's passing.
I am sad for your loss ... But I believe Heaven just received another Angel...
Much love

Oh, Larry, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I think your father must have been an amazing man to have such a wonderful son and one who was so very attentive to him throughout these difficult years.

Oh Larry, I am so sad to hear of your fathers passing. He was always so full of life when I knew him.

I'm saddened to know of your dad's passing. You were so lucky to have him with you for so long. He certainly had a full life, and I know you contributed to his joy and entertainment and surely some aggravation. He couldn't have had a more caring and devoted son than you.
We're on our way to the UK now. Know that our thoughts are wth you during this sad time.

With warm affection

I'm so sorry for your loss and know how hard it is to watch someone who you had such love and respect for disappear from your life.
I have very fond memories of our families getting together for a barbeque and a game of darkest Africa. I will never forget those days.

Memories are our path a to inner peace.

We're very fortunate to have some excellent genes in our family but it almost gives a false sense of hope that our loved ones will be here forever, so its also bittersweet. But if there was ever a fighter, it was your dad...and I'm happy he was surrounded by his family at this time.

Dear Larry,

Lan and I are sorry for your loss and wish you and your family all of the best during this time.
I know you were very close to your dad and over the years I have heard you tell many stories about him.
He had a long and productive life and provided for all of his family in an amazing way.
He was also blessed to be able to have his family with him at the end, which I think we all would wish to have.

Many blessings (Jewish, of course;)

Larry
It's always hard to know what to say when some one so close passes away, and especially with you, having tended to
Saul to keep him going................I know you loved him so much and did all that was possible to keep the end from coming........you are trully a loving son which Saul recognized and was able to experience..............I know you feel sad in losing Saul, but you must also feel joy in having Saul as your father and your friend...............

Larry, our hearts go out to you. Your dad fought a brave fight but it was time. He was played out. You are an incredible son and no one could have taken better care of him. I am convinced he lived longer because of the effort you put in to making him comfortable and taking incredibly good care of him. The good news is that there will always be a part of him alive in you.
We send our love.
