Donald J. Creighton, Sr. KINGSTON- Donald J. Creighton, Sr., died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus. He was 83. He was born in Poughkeepsie, a son of the late James and Ann Trinkle Creighton. Mr. Creighton was a master carpenter, based in Poughkeepsie. He was an avid outdoorsman, talented artist and musician who had a great love of reading. He was a humble master of Candy Crush. He was married to the late Patricia Rice Creighton who passed away on Oct. 18, 2014. Surviving are his son, Donald Creighton, Jr. and his wife Beth of Poughkeepsie; two daughters, Kelly Bradford Freer and her husband Steven Freer of Kingston, and Tricia Guzel and her husband Chet Guzel of West Nyack; two sisters, Ann Cooper and Dorothy Bahret; one brother, Rev. Fr. Robert Creighton; sister-in-law, Helgi Creighton and his former spouse, Eleanor Creighton; five grandchildren, Courtney Cichetti and her husband Christopher, Micaran Creighton and her companion Matthew McDermott, Chet Guzel Jr., Yasemin Guzel, Steven “Jake” Freer; two great-grandsons, Bentley James Creighton-O’Reilly and Trey Matthew McDermott; and several nieces and nephews. He is pre deceased by his brother, James Creighton; and his brother-in-law, Clayton Cooper. Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, where friends will be received on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at which time a memorial service will be held. Inurnment in the Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum will take place at a later date.
