Thomas J. Woltman KINGSTON - Thomas J. Woltman, aged 80, of Andrew Street, Kingston died Friday April 26, 2013 at the Golden Hill Health Care Center, born Jan. 9, 1933, in Staten Island. He was the son of the late Henry and Helen Woltman. Thomas or “Tom” as he was known was a devoted husband, father, and a faithful friend whose ebullient personality and optimistic spirit was as inspiration for all who knew him. Upon graduation from St. Peter's High School in Staten Island, Tom served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in West Germany. Subsequent to his honorable discharge from the Army, Tom attended Fordham University. In 1959 he met his wife Brigid, they were married in 1961 in New York City and moved to Kingston, where together they built a life founded on love, faith devotion to each other and their boys. Tom was employed at Idlewild Airport in Queens; upon relocating to Kingston his primary career was as route salesman in the motor oil industry; he was employed by Quaker State Motor Oil, Heritage Energy, and Polsinello Fuels. Tom also was employed as a route carrier for Roach Biomedical Laboratories. Tom was a member of the Ulster County AOH, and in 1998 was the AOH Irish Mayor of the day in the City of Kingston. Tom was a skilled craftsman, photographer and an avid railroad enthusiast. He was a member of the Kingston Model Railroad Club and the OW Society. Tom was predeceased by his wife of 51 years Bridie Woltman. Surviving are his three sons, Brian J. Woltman, Harry and his loving wife Denise and Sean J. Woltman; he had three grandsons, Brian J. Woltman Jr., Kevin and Andrew Woltman. He is also survived by a brother, Harry Woltman and brothers and sisters-in-law Patrick Ward, Gracie Boyle, Sean Ward with his wife Kitty, and Moya Boyle, along with a multitude of loving nieces and nephews, and many dear close friends. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston. www.jvleahyfh.com. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday. A funeral procession will form at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Mary's Church. Burial with military honors at St. Peter's Cemetery. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
