Alice A. Murray

Alice A. Donovan-Murray, 70, of Schenectady, passed away on December 18, 2021, at Westchester Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Donovan of Rotterdam, NY. Alice attended Mohonasen School, graduating in 1969. After high school, Alice worked for AT&T as a Phone Operator for 18 years. On September 28, 1989, Alice married her loving husband of over 32 years, Jim Murray. The couple resided in Rotterdam and later in Schenectady. Alice was employed as a Floral Designer, working for Price Chopper for nearly 20 years. Alice enjoyed hiking, gardening, and anyplace with a beach. She will be remembered as a loving and dedicated mother, wife, and friend, who always put friends and family first. In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her brother John E. Donovan. Survivors include her husband, Jim Murray, children, Kathleen M. Murray and Stephen R. Murray of Schenectady, two brothers, Peter A. Donovan of Manhattan and Will Donovan of Cohoes. The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, January 8, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Gleason Funeral Home. Alice will be cremated and her ashes will be scattered in a few of her favorite places.
