Kathleen L. Henges SchenectadyKathleen L. Henges, 71, of Schenectady passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady. Born in Schenectady, NY on July 2, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Lillian Calkins Jacobs. Kathleen will be lovingly remembered by her family, with whom she adored spending time, especially around the holidays. The scent of coffee will forever bring a smile to those who remember coffee time with Kathleen. Married in 1963, Mrs. Henges was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, the late Herman Paul Henges, who died February 29, 2008. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Kim Henges Eldridge, who died in 2003; her sister, Alice Henges; and her brothers, Harry Jacobs, Victor Jacobs, and Lester Jacobs. Survivors include her son, Kevin (Amy) Henges; siblings, Phyllis (John) Cook, Thomas Jacobs, and Audrey (David) Henges; four grandchildren, Kim and Nicole Eldridge and Justin and Brandon Henges; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the nurses and staff of The Community Hospice of Schenectady for their compassion and dedication to the care of Kathleen and her family. A very special thank you to Jackie Ruch for the years of unconditional love shown to Kathleen. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Light's Funeral Home, 1428 State St., Schenectady.
