Robert A. Larsen RotterdamRobert A. Larsen, 87, of Rotterdam, passed away Tuesday evening, December 3, at Ellis Hospital. Born in Binghamton, NY, Robert was the son of the late Herbert Larsen and Sylvia (Rury) Price. A United States Navy veteran, Robert served on the LST 597 in World War II. After serving his country, he worked as an insurance adjuster for Aetna Insurance in Schenectady for 40 years prior to his retirement. A member of City View Church and their Breakfast Club, Robert was also a member of the Rotterdam Masonic Lodge #1174, American Legion, East Worcester Fishing & Game Club, and he had traveled with the Honor Flight to Washington this past September. Robert was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn J. (Martin) Larsen, whom he married on July 3, 1948; as well as one grandchild, Greg Button; and son-in-law, Eslin Brace. Robert leaves behind his daughters, Karen A. Larsen of Schenectady and Joyce L. Brace of Rotterdam; his grandchildren, Brian Button (Pam) and Paul D'Annibale (Stephanie); and his great-grandchildren, Alexander and Zachary D'Annibale and Cassandra Button. Funeral services for Robert will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Ave., Schenectady. A visitation will take place from 12:30 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Interment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park in Rotterdam.
