Dr. Barrocas, I just heard the news this morning from Joan Scheffler. I am so deeply saddened. She was a beautiful woman and gave so much of herself as you have done also. My life has been so much richer having known you both. Blessings to your family.

To the family of Darlene, Chuck, Shirley and families,
We were sorry to read about Darlene. The last time that I saw her, she was at the Kitchen Table planning for a class reunion. She was strikingly pretty and had such a friendly way about her. We are sorry for your loss.

Dear Sal and David,

I was very sad to hear that Darlene had passed away. I had heard that she was ill again, and I am sorry I never got back to see her. She was an exceptionally kind and beautiful woman, and I admired her courage. We shared good times and much laughter when David and my son were younger and in Medinah South School and Cub Scouts.

I will always remember her sense of humor and her beautiful smile. When she was going through her first bout with cancer, I asked her what I could do for her or if there was anything special she needed. She said, "All I want is to be able to trim these darn tree branches by the side of my house but I can't reach them". So, I went and bought her a hand saw with a long handle to cut the branches away, and she said she liked that get well gift better than the flowers I brought her. What a fighter she was and I am blessed that she was my friend for all these years.

Again, Sal and David, John and I are so sorry for your loss and will keep you in our prayers.

With Sympathy,

Father Bill Veith

I knew Darlene slightly. She was always very kind. I gave her Communion in the hospital. She knew me as Dr.O'Laughlin's office manager and as a cardiac nurse. I extend my sympathies to Dr. Barrocas and all the family. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Dear Dr. Barrocas: I worked with you for years as a staff nurse in CCU when Jane was the Head Nurse. I had the pleasure of meeting Darlene at many of the Unit's social events, i.e. BBQs at Jim and Judy Fronkos. Darlene was such an example of intelligence, kindness and beauty.
I have such pleasant memories of you and your willingness to teach your staff nurses. My deepest symathys> Sandra Zgonina

Sal & David,

As you already know, you were blessed with a very special person to share life with ... what a beautiful lady! Fond memories are the best gifts our loved ones leave behind; she has left many to be cherished and to let us know she is really not that far away. Each of you are in my heart, and I feel privileged to have known and shared much conversation with Darlene.

God bless you!
