David Weinberger Obituary

David Weinberger of Schaumburg The family of David Weinberger, 90, will be receiving friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 10 a.m. Monday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Ltd., 330 W. Golf Road, Schaumburg. Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Born Sept. 3, 1917, in Sheboygan, Wis., to Henry and Katherine (nee Schultz) Weinberger, he died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at St. Alexius Medical Center with his family by his side. David married Margaret Grace in Australia on Oct. 6, 1943. He worked for the Chicago Transit Authority for 35 years and the Pinellas County Schools in Florida for 10 years. David was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved and served his country as a corporal in the Army. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the 128th Infantry 32 Red Arrow Division, and was a member of the Park Ridge VFW Post 3579. David loved and was a faithful servant to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. David is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret; their children, Marilyn (James) Alexander of Long Grove, David Lee Weinberger of San Francisco, Gale (James) Olsen of Wheeling, Margaret (Jerry) Slove of Wauconda, Ronald Weinberger (Kathy Warders) of Hesperia, Kathy Curry (Rolando Gonzalez) of Glenview and Leslie (John) Artinghelli of Hoffman Estates. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; his sister, Emily; his brothers, Henry, Chris and Robert; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Marion; sisters, Sophia, Katherine, Marie, Esther and Emma; and his brother, Alex.
