SYCAMORE - Muriel Ann Ericson, 84, of Sycamore, and formerly of Elgin, died Wednesday June 28, 2023 in Elgin. She was born April 13, 1939, in Galesburg, the daughter of Frank and Eileen (Welch) Clucas. She married F. Eugene Ericson July 5, 1958, in Galva. He preceded her in death January 16, 2001. Surviving are six children, Brent (Jean) Ericson of Bloomington; Crystal (Terry) Sportsman of Elgin; Carmelita (Doug) Ackmann of Sycamore; Barton (Shelly) Ericson of Peru; Catherine (Tim) Henley of Sycamore; Cara Ericson of Sycamore; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Mike Clucas of Galva. She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandsons. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking and gardening, and could often be found at family sporting events. Visitation will be held Friday, July 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Wait Ross Allanson Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin. A mass will be held Saturday, at 10 a.m. at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Elgin. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Elgin.
