RICHARD S. TAVOLACCI

Richard S. Tavolacci of Schaumburg The funeral Mass for Mr. Richard S. Tavolacci, 73, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1001 W. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 330 W. Golf Road, Schaumburg. Dick was born Dec. 12, 1936, in Chicago, and passed away May 3, 2010, in Schaumburg. He learned to play the accordion at an early age and enjoyed woodworking, especially building windmills, birdhouses, doll houses, coat racks, booster chairs and pedal operated bi-planes. He was a successful businessman, first as a union painter and as the owner of his own company, Dependable Decorating, Schaumburg. When he hung up his brushes he became a successful business owner of Salem Liquors and Tavos Liquors in Schaumburg. In his spare time he enjoyed being at home with all of his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an Army veteran where he met his wife, Hannelore, in Frankfort, Germany. He will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family. He was the beloved husband for 50 years of the late Hannelore (nee Vetter); loving father of Steven, Thomas (Jane) and Robert (Diane) Tavolacci; and dear grandfather of Anthony, Frank, Brooke, Thomas and Taylor. Richard was the last survivor of his immediate family and was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine; father, Dominick; sister, Diane Galenski; and brother, Gerald. May they all rest in peace and be a family once again in the Lords kingdom. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated for the American Diabetes Association.
