HUNTLEY - Robert Rankin, 95, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Robert was born on January 21, 1923, the son of Taylor and Gladys Rankin. On March 25, 1986 he was married to Gerd Hanaas. He was a proud Navy veteran and worked hard as a diesel mechanic for many years. Robert Loved his family and would do anything for them. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. Robert is survived by his wife, Gerd Rankin, children, Per Vidar (Faith) Hansen, Lisbeth (Richard) Fillmore, Kari Mette Hansen (Steve Kruse), grandchildren, Erik, Ingrid, Emily, Aaron, Adam, Per, Cameo, Karina, great-grandchildren, Payton, Preston, Caily, Drake, Laila, Naia, Mason, Devin, Gaige,Ever and Miranda, and sister, Shirley (Arlan) Argo and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Taylor (Gladys) Rankin, first wife, Elizabeth, and brother, Charlos Rankin. Visitation will be from 10-11am on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, 10805 Main St., Huntley, IL, a funeral service will follow at 11am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Robert's name to the American Diabetes Association, 55 E Monroe St #3420, Chicago, IL or Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church.
