Victor Nelsen Obituary

Victor A. "Vic" Nelsen of West Chicago A funeral service for Victor A. "Vic" Nelsen, 85, will be held at 6 p.m. today, at Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St., St. Charles. Born Sept. 4, 1916, in Maple Park, the son of Victor and Kristine (nee Thompson) Nelsen, he died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at Aurora Manor Nursing Home in Aurora. Burial will be in Gardner Cemetery, Maple Park. During World War II, Vic served in the Army. A plumber by trade and a member of the Plumbers Union, he was employed for many years with the Geneva Plumbing Company. He was also a lifelong member of the St. Charles Sportsman Club. Surviving are his wife, Alice Nelsen (nee Roach); children, Linda (Herbie) Johnson of Hudson, Fla., June Sturgeon of New Lenox and Dave Nelsen of West Chicago; grandchildren, Herbie Johnson Jr., Michael Johnson, Pamela (Jerry) Lobb, Cord (Jane) Sturgeon, Talia Sturgeon, Katie Nelsen and Evin Nelsen; and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Nels (Wanita) Nelsen of St. Charles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Harry C. Nelsen; and sisters, Carrie Pierrone, Edith Thryselius and Ella Kribs. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of services, at the funeral home.
