A Celebration Remembering the Life of Bessie Mae Twymon, 65, of Talladega, Alabama, will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 1 p.m. at S.M. Goodson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bobby Welch officiating. A public viewing for Ms. Twymon will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 from 3-7 p.m. at S.M. Goodson Funeral Home. Professional services entrusted to S.M. Goodson Funeral Home and Crematory-Talladega. Bessie Mae Twymon was born on March 17, 1957 to the union of Charlie E. Twymon and Nancy Mae Wallace Twymon in Talladega, Alabama. At an early age, Bessie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Africa Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life, she kept the faith and united with Peace Missionary Baptist serving faithfully until her health began to fail. Bessie received her formal education in the Talladega County School System where she was a graduate of Winterboro High School. She was employed as a CNA for many years with Talladega Nursing Home and retired when her health started to decline. Along Bessie's path in life, she became the proud mother of two loving children, Quantavius and Tori. Bessie was affectionately known by her family and friends as "Bessie Mae". She loved her grandchildren with all her heart. There is nothing she would not do for her grannies. If Bessie was feeling lucky, she would travel to Weptumpka and play those slots hoping for a big win! But most of all, Bessie Mae would give you a piece of her mind in the funniest way to let you know she meant business. For many years, Bessie found peace in cooking and baking for her grandchildren, family, and friends. We can't leave shopping out of her schedule because Bessie always found time to go find a sale. After God blessed us with Bessie for 65 earthly years, her journey was peacefully completed on October 11, 2022 when she gained her heavenly wings and was called home for eternal rest while surrounded by loved ones while in the care of Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga, Alabama. Once gaining her heavenly wings, she was reunited with her parents, Charlie and Nancy Twymon, her beloved daughter, Tori Lakisha Twymon, three brothers, Eugene Twymon, Ray Charles Twymon, and Freddie D. Twymon, and one sister, Dorothy Wright. Bessie's loving memories will forever be remembered and cherished by her loving and devoted son, Quantavius Twymon, Sr.; two sisters, Fannie Wallace Turner and Cherrie T. (James, Jr.) Stockdale; two brothers, James Wallace and Gary Reynolds; five grandchildren, MaZahri Twymon, Amiracle Twymon, Quantavius Twymon, Jr., Ariana Twymon, and A'miyah Twymon; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
