George Riddle Obituary

The legendary Childersburg native George K "Cubby" Riddle went to be with the Lord Saturday, October 27, 2018 after a long battle with cancer at Grandview Hospital. Born September 4, 1942, he was raised in Bon Air Alabama and then moved to Childersburg Alabama. He is survived by his son Jamie Riddle (Kim), daughter Lisa Bolding and son Chad Riddle (Candy), Grandchildren Larry Bolding II, Rebecca Caviness, Kyle Riddle, Kelly Riddle, Kandy Riddle and Kale Riddle, Great grandchildren Norah Caviness, Memphis Caviness and Ella Bolding. Sisters Edna Cain, Bettye Walker (Bob) and Sue Brannon (Nolan). Late brothers Howard Riddle, Bobby Riddle and Delano Riddle. He also had numerous nieces and nephews. George opened Riddle's garage and body shop in 1972, and served the Childersburg community for over 33 years. He was an avid Alabama fan, and loved NASCAR, fishing, playing pool and card games with friends and family. Known as an amazing character, he always had a story to tell. Viewing will be Thursday, November 1 from 6 to 8 PM at the Childersburg Church of God. Funeral service will be Friday November 2 at 1 PM at the Childersburg Church of God with burial following in the Greenhill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lance Brannon, Grant Patton, Rocky Gowers, Sean Denty, James Morris, and Chris Culver. Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneyfuneralhome.com.
