Mary Ann Robinson Obituary

Mary Anne Lowery Robinson, 73, died April 13, 2015, at St. Vincent's St. Clair Hospital in Pell City, Alabama. She was born March 24, 1942 and was a native and life-long resident of Pell City. Mary Anne was a graduate of Pell City High School and a charter member of the Pell City Board of Education. After her tenure on the Board of Education she remained a devoted supporter of the school system in its entirety and enjoyed attending school events to which her beloved grandchildren were participants. Mary Anne attended Auburn University and was an enthusiastic follower of Auburn football. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church of Pell City. Mary Anne was also a member of the Daughters of American Revolution (DAR) and a charter member of Aromaz Dynasty Temple No. 163 Daughters of the Nile. She was an active member of the clown unit and enjoyed entertaining children through this endeavor. As an avid lover of the "water," Mary Anne's interests were shelling and fishing. She was a member of the 5W Lodge and Fishing Club of Ohatchee, Alabama. Mary Anne thoroughly enjoyed teaching her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends about the skill of collecting sea shells. Her favorite place to find shells was the forgotten coast of Port St. Joe and Apalachicola, Florida. Mary Anne was the matriarch of the Robinson family and enjoyed planning family reunions at the 5W Ranch in Ohatchee, Alabama. She stayed in touch with all of the extended family members and maintained a special relationship with all of them. She was a kind and generous lady who loved life and enjoyed having people around her. Mary Anne "Nunny", was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius Raymond Lowery (Dudy) and Elise Mankin Lowery. Mary Anne is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Charles E. Robinson, Sr.; and sons Charles E. Robinson, Jr. (Jackie), and Thomas D. Robinson (Kristi); grandchildren, Anne Elise Robinson, Charles E. Robinson, III, Jacqueline Brooklere (Brooke) Robinson, Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Robinson; brother, J. Raymond Lowery (Dorothy). She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and special friends, Izora Cunningham, Brenda Martin, and Maudie Sanders. Funeral arrangements are as follows: The family will receive friends Wednesday night, April 15, 2015 at the Kilgroe Funeral Home Pell City from 6-8pm. Charlie , I'm so sorry for your family's loss. May you draw close to our loving God by reading His Word, where you can find comfort in the hope that He gives us all, that of seeing our loved ones again in a beautiful new paradise home here on earth. Psalm 83:18,

To the Robinson family,
I just wanted to offer my condolences on the loss of your wife, mother and grandmother. I got a chance to know your loved one as I was a previous letter carrier. Before the invisible fence was installed for the dogs, I would oftern see the dog up the street and just bring them home to Mrs. Robinson. One thing for sure she loved her family and extended family very much. She was always so sweet and kind to me. My prayers are with each of you. Take comfort in knowing to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
