Alice Bryant Obituary

Alice Marie Bryant passed away on July 10, 2023, at the age of 82.

She was born in Clarendon, Arkansas on January 17, 1941, to Fred Eugene Neal and Eathel Labell Wilhite Neal. She grew up in Clarendon and lived there until she was 18 years old when she joined the Air Force. It was there that she met her first husband and the father of her two children, Rick and Mike. After leaving the Air Force, Alice and her family moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she lived for 10 years and was a full-time mother raising her children, volunteering at the children's school and church, managing the household, and creating a home for her family. In 1973 the family moved to Savannah, Georgia. During her time in Savannah, Alice continued to be involved with her church and went back to school to receive a degree from a local business college. She also enjoyed time at the beach, crabbing, and shrimping along the Georgia coast with her children, as well as other community activities. Alice and her family then moved to Bolingbrook, IL for a year before moving to Memphis, Tennessee in 1977 where she continued raising her children and began a career in Sales. then later moved to Olive Branch, Mississippi.

After her first marriage ended, Alice met the love of her life, Fred Bryant, in 1989 and they married in 1993. At that time, she gained three more children of Fred's whom she loved very much. Together Alice and Fred lived an active lifestyle, enjoying golf, travel, and spending time with their children, grandchildren, and her siblings. Throughout her life Alice enjoyed hobbies that included crafts, cake decorating, crocheting, and gardening but golf was her passion. For many years she enjoyed the friends she met and the golf at the Olive Branch Country Club.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Eathel Neal, and three siblings, Richard Neal, Tommy Neal, and Lela Jean Lambert and her grandson Spenser Powell. She is survived by her husband, Fred Bryant, her two sons Richard and his wife Sonia, and Michael Brown and his wife Alecia, her three stepchildren David Bryant and his wife Kathleen, Gayla Marable and her husband Chris, and Daniel Bryant and his wife Laura along with 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, her siblings Betty Jo Bridges, Charles Neal, Sherry Baxter and her husband Jimmy, Gary Neal and his wife Loretta and Mike Neal and his wife Renee, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Alice will be held Sunday, July 16, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Hwy 305 North, Olive Branch, MS 38654, followed by a memorial service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, and a fellowship gathering for afterward.
