Jack Fitzgerald

Jack Fitzgerald of Sun City, Arizona passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Boswell Hospital. Jack was born in Thomasville, North Carolina on August 21, 1922. He was married to Vivian Crocker. His son, Kevin and family, reside in Valparaiso, Indiana. His son, Jeffrey, resides in southern California. His stepdaughter, Debbie Wampler, resides in Ft. Myers Florida. His stepson, Danny Jenkins, resides in Michigan City, Indiana. Jack served during World War II in the Marine Corps in the south Pacific. He graduated from George Washington University and moved to Tampa, Florida. He served as port director for the Port of Tampa from 1950 to 1969. He moved to Indiana to become the first CEO and Port Director for the Port of Indiana in Burns Harbor, Indiana. The Fitzgeralds lived in Poway, California; Daphne, Alabama; Roswell, New Mexico; Phoenix, Arizona; before settling in Sun City, Arizona. Golf and senior living were big attractions. Jack had a fall in December 16, 2007 and never totally recovered. Private services were held followed by cremation.
