Darrell L. Walker

HAMPTON - Darrell L. Walker of Custer Court, Hampton, VA departed this life on January 7th while resting peacefully in his home. Darrell was a native of Southampton County born on June 15, 1963 to the late William H. and Esther Beale Walker. He was employed with Huntington Ingalls/Newport News Shipyard as a Shipbuilder for 27 years. Darrell retired in 2010. He was a member of Joppa Missionary Baptist Church in Belvidere, NC. Darrell was also a member of St. Luke Lodge #279, B.P.O.E. Darrell is survived by his wife, Vanessa "Faye" Walker; one son, Daryell Walker (Jennifer); one daughter, Titisha Harvey; sisters, Linda Walker, Ella Hill, Elmira Williams; brothers. William Earl Walker, James Walker, Reverend Michael Walker (Zenobia); grandchildren, Daryell Walker, Jr., Isaiah Harvey, Elijah Harvey; nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the chapel at the funeral home. A homegoing service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, January 13th, Apostolic Faith Church of God, 680 Oak Street, Franklin with Reverend Michael Walker delivering the eulogy; Elder Ronnie Warren is the host pastor.
