I know John didn't get to ride my Harley to Tennesee which was high on his bucket list but it did give him a big smile for the few times he did get to ride it. I will miss him and every time I ride his MP3 I will remember John as a co-worker, friend , and just a genuine friendly guy.My sympathy goes out to his family.

I was saddened to hear of John's passing. He was my supervisor during the last years of my employment at NNS (HII). He was a thoughtful, caring and innovative leader. Under his guidance, his department made a number of significant and far reaching changes to the NNS' nuclear program.
On another level, he provided me with essential support as I worked through a number of transitions in my own family.
He will be remembered and missed.

Only memories of John are from my basketball days at Meadowbrook HS, when John was one of the hardest working players I ever witnessed and if he lived his short life like he did on the basketball court in the early 80's, he worked hard and gave life and his family everything he had. So glad i had the opportunity to know John and see him at our recent high school class reunion. May God and John always be in your hearts.

John was a great man. You could always rely on his availability to help out when needed. He always wanted to help even when he was the one who needed the helping. We are greatly saddened to hear that he lost his battle with cancer. Alex, he will always be proud of you. He will forever look out from above with a smile to shine on your face.

I was very sadden to hear of John's passing. He was a man full of Joy everytime you met him. He has been greatly missed during his illness here at Newport News Shipbuilding and now the void will remain. Yet, we Glory that he suffers no more. May the Grace of God keep you all during this time of loss.

I was sad to hear of John's passing. I remember the close knit neighborhood of Meadowbrook and our family's (Kenneth, Lucille, and Nancy Nelson) friendship with the Taylors and the Betzolds.

John will be deeply missed by many. Some of my favorite memories of John was when we would come to Richmond to visit the family and John would play the piano and sing.. The entire Taylor family is in our thoughts and prayers.
