Mattie MILLS Obituary
Born in Jasper, Ala., she had been a resident of Newport News since 1973. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Newport News and a former member of Williamsburg Country Club.
Mrs. Mills is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Lewis L. Mills; three daughters, Kathryn Ann Carpenter, Patricia Lynne Mills, and Jennifer Lou Hake; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Peninsula Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

Dear Lou and family, we are so sorry for your loss. Sue was a great neighbor and friend, while we lived in Denbigh, and we will always remember her and the good times we had together. Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family.

I will always remember Mrs. Mills as a loving, spirited woman. Watching her little dog, Missy, run the agility course each Saturday was one of my favorite weekly events. When I saw her last month, she gave me a great big hug. <3 She will be missed.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Mrs. Mills would always be out walking her dog and stop and take a minute to talk to me and my daughter, she was such a kind person!
