Nora Bowman Obituary

Nora Mae BOWMAN Nora Mae Gerloff Bowman born April 5, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas and a graduate from Providence High in San Antonio in 1961, passed away January 4, 2006 at her home in Federal Way, WA surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Nora was full of spunk, creativity, and a competitive fire. She was a champion bowler and softball player. She played bridge, tennis, and had a flare for arts and crafts. She loved backpacking the Olympics, sailing the San Juan's, and tending her lush garden. Her eyes sparkled as she immersed herself and those around her in the wonderment of nature. She brought hope and devotion not only as a teacher for her special needs students but all those that made her acquaintance. Most importantly, Nora lived life with passion and humility. Through her example, she taught us all that love is selfless, love is patience, and love is unconditional. Norie is survived by her husband of over 44 years, Jim, daughter, Bunny Fox (Mike), son, Jim Jr. (Krissie), son, John (Kim), son, Ralph (Kelly), son Joe (Sarah); grandchildren, Ashley, Kendra, Matt, J.T., Katie, Austin, Beau, Ben, Bradley, Nikky, Jessica, Emily, and Bryan; brothers, Al Gerloff, and Lee Gerloff (Kathy), sister, Cindy Causey (Larry); brothers-in-law, Danny Dinkla, Gordon Radecke, David Blacketter; and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and dear friends. The Rosary will be Tuesday, January 10, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral will be Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. Both services will be at St. Vincent De Paul Church. Burial will be 2:00 p.m. at Gethsemane Cemetery, Federal Way, Washington. Family and friends are invited to sign the online guest book and get more information at: www.klontzfuneralhome.com or call 253-833-1322. In lieu of gifts, contributions can be sent to: "In Memory of Nora Bowman" St. Vincent de Paul School Endowment Fund - 30525 8th Ave S. Federal Way, WA 98003.

Dear Jim and Children, Al, Cindy, Lee & Families,
