Anne,
I was one of those Sailors that performed duties under the guidance of the MO as he was called at VQ-2 in Rota when I arrived there, it was during one or more of my tours in the "Q" that I knew him. I always admired him for his strict control and knowledge of his profession. I would like to pass my condolences to you and the family with his loss I know that there is now a terrible void in many peoples lives. We can only rest assured that he now is with our Lord and Savior and in that better place he now has no longer pain and suffering. I offer you these thoughts and prayers in this trying time from just another of those who's lives was touched by William Baumgartner in the line of duty.

Dear Baumgartner Family,
Mr. Baumgartner was our son's teacher at HRA. Stephen said the way Mr. Baumgartner explained calculus, you could "see it in your mind" and understand the theory. He was truly a gifted teacher and one of Stephen's favorites. He will be missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Our deepest condolences to the Baumgartner family. My daughter, Christina (Chrissy) had Mr. Baumgartner for Alg.II/Trig and AP Calculus. He was an excellent teacher! She went on to take a Calculus class at Princeton with ease because of the strong background she had acquired at HRA. We are extremely sorry for your loss.

I don't know what to say. Mr BG was the best math teacher i have ever had, I recall in ninth grade walking into his class and saying to myself "this is a good place to go to high school". He was an awsome teacher and a good christian. . . i'm speechless.

Dear Evan & Julie,
There is never an easy time or an easy age to lose a parent. Some of us only have them for a short time and some of us for many wonderful years. Your father was very fortunate to have been able to see what types of adults the two of you have become and I'm sure he was very proud of both of you. You and your mother will be in our thoughts, prayers and as always our hearts. With our deepest sympathies. Kay, Tim, Derrick, Tony & Maile

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Mr. Baumgartner was one of the best teachers I've ever had. Because of his AP class, continuing math in college was a breeze. I was blessed to have him for a teacher, and what I learned from him far surpassed that of our math curriculum. He was an amazing mentor, and always made himself available to listen and help his students with anything we brought to him. The impact he had on us is undefinable and we will all truly miss him.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Ed was always so kind to me at church and most recently would come up to ask about my father who had been sick. I am so sad because of my loss of my dad and now the loss of such a kind and gentle man, Ed.
I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Please let me know if I can do anything for you
