Gary Pumphrey Obituary

Gary Curtis Pumphrey, 70, passed away at his home Monday, March 13, 2023. He was born July 4, 1952 in Houston to the late Curtis Davis Pumphrey and Virginia Brand Pumphrey. He was a retired mechanic and a member of Griffin Christian Church.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Houston with Bro. John Sevier officiating. Burial will be at Macedonia Cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Marcelle Pumphrey of West Point; two daughters; Nickie Pettit of Houston, Leigh Ann McAlpin (Jon-Curtis Poole) of West Point; two grandsons, Jon-Lester Morris of Houston, Brian Michael McAlpin of Houston; three granddaughters, Lillian Celeste Morris of Houston, Baylee Ann McAlpin of Houston and Faith Ann Moore of Houston; one brother, William Ray Pumphrey (Sherri) of West Point.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Curtis Davis Pumphrey and Virginia Brand Pumphrey; a daughter, Heather Celeste Pumphrey.

Pallbearers will be Jon-Curtis Poole, Wyatt Pumphrey, Wes Pumphrey, Tweety Allen, Charles "Boo" Allen and Randy Allen.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Houston.
