Lois Selkirk Obituary

Selkirk, Lois Ann Gordon Williams Lois Ann Gordon Williams Selkirk was born April 7, 2012 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to Walter H. and Margaret Williams and passed away on December 11, 2012 in Dallas, Texas after a long illness. She graduated in a class of 50 from Wells College in Aurora, New York with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. While starting her career life as a Social Worker, Lois worked well into her sixties, her last position being at John Watson Landscape Illumination of Dallas. Lois was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church and the Junior League. Strong-willed and outspoken, she was known for her witty sense of humor, progressive opinions and strong sense of patriotism. She used to say she could never be an Olympic judge because she would want to give every American a gold medal upon arrival. Lois had a strong appreciation for history, with particular interest in President Abraham Lincoln. Preceded in death by her son, Wayne Mark Williams; first husband, Wayne Williams; and husband of 39 years, Wallace Simrell Selkirk, she is survived by daughter, Lindsay Elizabeth Selkirk of Dallas, TX; son, Gordon Simrell Selkirk and wife, Sue, of San Clemente, CA; grandchildren, Eric Williams of Dallas, PA, Brian Williams of Scranton, PA, Ashleigh Williams of Scranton, PA, Porter Selkirk and Reid Selkirk both of San Clemente, CA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in her honor to Lois' alma mater, Wells College Attn: Advancement 170 Main Street, Aurora, NY 13026. Dear Lindsay,
I am sorry to read that your mother passed away. I have very fond memories of her. She was lively and she had a great laugh! I also remember that she liked us to play outside! I will let my parents, Bill and Donna, know about her passing. They too will be sad to hear the news because they were big fans of "Gordie" and Wally. love, Lee Ann Brown (Ray)
