Pierre Fontaine Obituary
, FONTAINE JR., PIERRE ADAM (COOTER), Passed away November 1, 2006 at the age of 69. Pierre was born August 17, 1937 in Dallas, Texas, attended Stonewall Jackson, Woodrow Wilson, and after graduation from high school served in the Marine Corp Reserve. After completing his military service he attended North Texas State University completing his degree at East Texas State, known as Texas A&M at Commerce and graduated in 1963 with a BBA. Following college he began his career in the trucking industry. Pierre sold trucks for White Motor Company from 1963-1970 then owned Fontaine Truck Leasing 1970 to 1985. He bought Horton Brothers Trucking in 1985 and began Fontaine Truck Sales until his retirement in 2002. He married Beverly Wickwire 1960 and became the proud father of four children, Adam, Suzanne, Greg and Beau. Pierre was preceded in death by his parents, the late Pierre A. Fontaine, (Director Dallas Zoo and Aquarium), and Josephine Elizabeth Fontaine and one sister Betty Jo Fontaine Zeidlik and his oldest son Pierre Adam Fontaine III. Pierre was an avid sportsman, loved and enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching football with his many friends. In his entrepreneurial efforts to diversify he started Pierres Steakhouse 1975 located on Maple Avenue, then Pierres Restaurant on Bachman Lake in 1978, Pacesetter Van Conversion 1980, Crested Butte Recreational Vehicles in Crested Butte, Colorado 1983. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Vicki DeMarco Fontaine and his children, Suzanne Henry and her husband Mike and their 4 children, Tiffany, Jonathan, Christopher, and Austin, his son Gregory Allen Fontaine and wife Leanne and their 2 children, Gregory and Cory, Beau Vincent Fontaine and his daughter Heather. Stepson Victor Michael DeMarco and wife Mary and their 2 children, Pierce and Payton. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
