David HARTSOCK Obituary


News Death Notice

HARTSOCK, David D. born Feb. 13, 1929 to James S. and Barbara Eve Hartsock. A 1947 graduate of Waynesville High School where he was an outstanding athlete. He was inducted into the Waynesville High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997. David had perfect attendance for 66 years at the W.H.S. alumni banquet. He served on the Wayne Local Board of Education for 16 years and was a member of the Waynesville Masonic Lodge, Antioch Shrine Club, Miami Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Waynesville Lions Club, Waynesville Rotary Club, and the Waynesville United Methodist Church. He worked at NCR for 29 years and he and his family own and operate the Village Ice Cream Parlor & Restaurant in Lebanon for the past 34 years. He was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph, Dan, James, George, John, and Billie. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Phyllis; daughters Sandra (Terry) Fuston and Susan (Darryl) Alexander; son David Michael (Janet) Hartsock; grandson Tyler (Sherri) Alexander; granddaughters Kayla (Kyle) Francis and Jessica Hartsock (fiancée Marc Leblanc); great grandchildren Kayden & Avery Alexander, Lucy & Audrey Francis, and Alex Leblanc; his brother Thomas; sisters Mary Frances Hartsock and Barbara McArthur; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services 11 AM Thurs. Feb. 20 at the Waynesville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 5-8 PM Wed. at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville.
