News Death Notice
BLAKE, Jr., Rev. Dr. Earl N. The Rev. Dr. Earl N. Blake, Jr., went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, April 4, 2015. Rev. Blake was born on November 5, 1928, in Muncie, Indiana, to the union of Earl and Luberta Blake, Sr. Rev. Blake was the Pastor of St. Paul Community Church for 43 years. He served his country during two periods of enlistment in the US Army from 1947-1948 and 1950-1953. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 1983. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Sara Blake, his mother and father, brothers Rosedale and Kaizell, and sisters Gertrude Calhoun, Grace Underwood, Mary, Ruth and Rachel Blake. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Evelyn, sister, Lena M. Ash, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, his St. Paul Community Church family and cherished, lifelong friends from Muncie, Indiana. Visitation (11am) and Funeral Service (12pm) will be held at St. Paul Community Church, 2190 Fairport Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday, April 11, 2015. Services respectfully rendered by Bowman and Young Funeral Home.

It is with great passion and love that I extend my condolence to the family of my beloved, Rev, Dr. Earl N. Blake. To 1st Lady, Sister Lena and my St Paul Family. I felt your hearts when I heard that the news of Elder Blake's home going. God has called another General from labor to reward. My heart was flooded with the precious memories shared in Ministry under the leadership of Pastor and Mother Sara Blake. The love that they poured out for me as a single mom, and my daughter Cynathia while I was a member and student at Wilberforce University will always be a part of my testimony and spiritual journey. It was under this leadership that I obtained a profound appreciation for the five fold ministry of teaching. A greater level of training and active work in ministering services was cultivated under Elder Blake's Ministry. He has truly produced fruits that remain.
My sincere prayer is that the peace of God and the comfort of His Holy Spirit will guard your hearts and mind as you go through this season. Although we know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, our hearts of humanity allows us to feel the sting of Gods sovereignty. My prayers are with you.

Reverend Blake was like a grandfather to me. He always looked out for me and made sure that I stayed in God's path. Reverend Blake was truly a man of God and I know for sure that he is resting in God's arms now.

What an awesome man of God...i am saved today because of the teachings of Bishop Blake and Mother Blake. St Paul was my church home for 4years of college at Wilberforce University. Bishope Blake stopped preaching and answered all my questions about salvation, Jesus, and what was the Holy Ghost. He and Mother would bring me to there home and made sure i was ok on campus...i rejioce when i think about the numerous souls won, because of this gentle giant. To my family uncle Earl is safe in God arm. He ran a good race,
now he can rest .we will miss him but God knows best . We can't rumb his soft face or hear that voice or talk about his favorite thing the bible it is alright, God has our back. So aunt E hang on in there . Aunt Lena we love you keep pressing on we are here if you need us .love to my family, remember this is a road we all must travel so just be ready to answer the call.
