Gladys RALSTON Obituary

RALSTON (Cook), Gladys Eileen 94, of Dayton, passed away in the presence of the Lord, on Friday, May 25, 2018. She was born April 30, 1924 in a small town in Adams County, Ohio to Harry & Loa (Rogers) Cook. She met her Savior Jesus Christ at a young age and served Him faithfully until the end. She was a church pianist until the age of 89. Sister Ralston had a passion for flowers, birds, peach ice cream and diet coke. She was the absolute epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman: Virtuous, worker, homemaker, servant, prayer warrior, faithful wife and mother, to name a few. Strength and honor were her clothing, and she now rejoices with her beloved Savior. She opened her mouth with wisdom and showed the law of kindness with her speech. Her greatest treasures were her family & serving God passionately. Our family has been blessed beyond measure to call her mother & grandmother. Truly we arise up and call her blessed. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband & love of her life, Fred; her brother, Louis Cook, and sister, Elsie Messer. Survived by her children; Elwood & Rhoda Ralston of Tipp City, OH, Edward & Shelby Ralston of Savannah, GA, Thomas Ralston of Riverside, OH, Peggy & Sam Pierce of Miamisburg, OH, Sharon & Michael Whitley of Moraine, OH; 11 grandchildren, Jeff, Nikki, Sheila, Ryan, Jenelle, Bridgett, Tonya, Greg, Steve, Kimberly and Rachel; 20 great grandchildren & 8 great great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the Wellington @ Dayton for making Mom family. We love you all. Thank you to Dr. Joni Koren, Dr. Timothy Schoonover & Dr. Brian Schwartz for their care of Mother for many years. To all the staff @ Ohio's Hospice of Dayton & Dr. Patel: You made her final days easier. Your compassion is second to none. We will never forget your kindness. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Dryden Road Pentecostal Church, 3201 Dryden Road, Moraine, OH 45439. Rev. Ed Ralston, Rev. Ryan Ralston & Rev. Bennie Sutherland, officiating. Interment Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City, OH. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Dryden Road Pentecostal Church. If desired, memorials may be made to Hospice of Dayton. Arrangements by the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, "Northridge Chapel," Dayton, OH. Dear Sis Ralston, what a Godly example you were. I am so thankful to have attended church with you! I believe no greater testimony than to have your children rise and call you blessed and to have the Savior say well done....You have accomplished both, until we meet again.

Sis Ralston was indeed one of the most wonderful examples of Christ...she portrayed Him in Word, Action & Deed. She has already heard our Saviour say, "Well Done Good & Faithful Servent..."

Eileen was one of my favorite people. Always kind and caring and had a good sense of humor. Good Christian and enjoyed life and her family and friends. She is a friend I will not forget. My sympathy to the entire family for the loss of your wonderful mom. By now the great big arms of Jesus and friends and loved ones who have been waiting for her in heaven have welcomed her home. Now life truly begins.

My heart is saddened by the loss of such a wonderful, precious lady! To know her was to love her! I will never ever forget her endless love and all the hugs and face pats that she would give me anytime I saw her! She was truly like another Grandma to me!! I was privileged to attend church with her for many many years and what an impact she had on my life!
Heaven is so much sweeter - one more reason to keep on keepin' on!

Oh my...what a time shes having now! This journey she took was well done. She was such a great example of a Christian for all of us. My first memory of her was behind the piano at the church on Mentor Avenue 34 years ago. She has been a friend to our family and such a prayer warrior. She will be missed. Im praying for your family that God would flood you with previous memories that make you smile, that he comfort the feeling of loss you have at this time, and that he helps you celebrate her gain. Someday soon we are going to a meeting...we will shout these troubles over..what a glad reunion day!!
