James Vincent TIEMAN

1930 - 2018

TIEMAN, James Vincent Age 87, passed away at St. Leonard Retirement Center on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 3:00 am. Jim was born December 12, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio. He graduated from Chaminade High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of Dayton and a Master of Arts in Education from Miami University. Jim taught for 30 years in the Dayton Public Schools. After he retired he taught religion and Latin at Springfield Catholic High School and English courses at University of Dayton, Sinclair and Edison College. He spent many hours volunteering at St. Helen and Ascension churches. Jim was a avid gardener, enjoyed riding his bike, square dancing, playing cards and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Peggy, of 62 years, his children and their spouses: David and Sandy Tieman, Jeff and Kathy (Tieman) Snyder, Jerry and Carolyn Waterbury-Tieman, Dan and Christian Tieman, Daren and Anne (Tieman) Beeson, Michael and Carol (Tieman)Frey and his 11 grandchildren. Memorial mass to be celebrated on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11 AM at Chaminade Chapel at St. Leonard's Retirement Center. Visitation with family from 10:00-11:00.
