News Death Notice
OLDHAM, William "Curtis" age 81 of Dayton, OH departed this life on Thursday, February 21, 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents; Irene (Oldham) Eggleston and Robert Oldham Sr.; brothers, Robert Jr., Maurice and Melvin Oldham; sisters, Fannie White and Christine Abney; wife, Arlene Oldham and sons, William Curtis Jr. and Robert Oldham. Survivors include his loving and devoted children, Charles and Sondra Oldham; devoted step-son, DeWayne (Angie) Perkins; loving partner of 20 years, Harriet Townsend and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service 11:00 A.M., THURSDAY, February 28, 2013 at CALVARY MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 2067 N. Gettysburg Ave. Rev. Morris Goggins, Officiating and Rev. Ronald Ford, Eulogist. Viewing will be held 9:00 A.M., Thursday; the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment: Woodland Cemetery. Whatever we were to each other, that we still are. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference in your tone, wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near just round the corner. All is well! Rest in internal peace, beloved Curtis.

Uncle Curtis was very much loved. He always told the greatest stories. You couldn't help but smile when he was around. Fun loving person who will be missed by many and loved by all who knew him. RIP, Uncle Curtis, in the arms of our Lord. I'll never forget you.
