Rhett Butler Obituary
Rhett loved his 16 month old daughter, Luella, very much. Luella and Rhett enjoyed feeding their animals together. He recently purchased her a little 4-wheeler, and they enjoyed riding together. He also enjoyed riding 4 wheelers with his friends and family. Rhett loved farming and caring for his livestock. Rhett and Amber faithfully took care of his grandfather, Joe Butler, for many years.
Among survivors are his daughter, Luella Butler, at home; mother, Carrie (Jeff) Atkinson of Berne; father, Jeffery (Carolyn) Butler of Decatur; paternal grandfather, Joe Butler of Decatur; maternal grandmother, Sylvia (Ken) Schaeffer of Howe, Indiana; and Amber's parents, Ken and Tammy Mertes of Decatur.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home-Decatur. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Friday, and one hour prior to services Saturday, all at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to Luella's education fund, with checks payable to Amber Butler
