Barbara L. Rhoades, of Burlington, NJ, went to be with her Lord on Monday, January 12, 2015.

She was born in Newark, DE to the late Alice and Cyrus Oakes and graduated from Wilmington HS in 1948. Shortly after graduation she married the late Rev. William H. Rhoades, Jr., where she was not only a "Pastor's Wife", but a homemaker and mother of 9 children. She was a member of Fountain of Life Center, Burlington, NJ.

Barbara is survived by her 3 sons, Rev. William H., III, (fiancée, Cheryl Cannon), Rev. Stephen P. (Susan) and David J. (Kristin); 6 daughters, Barbara E. Underwood (Richard), Linda A. Lobley (Edwin), Carol L. Brooks (Larry), Joan E. Gitaitis (Michael), Susan P. Lanza (Rev. John) and Phyllis J. Shipley (Rusty), 25 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, John L. and James M. Heisler and 2 sisters, Nancy M. Heisler and Grace E. Daukas.

A funeral service will be held in New Jersey on Saturday, January 17, at 11 am, at Fountain of Life Center, 2035 Columbus Rd., Burlington, NJ, where a viewing will begin at 9am. A local funeral service will be held on Monday January 19, at 12 noon at First Assembly of God, 201 Hawthorne Dr, Wilmington, DE, where a viewing will be starting at 10am. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
