"Sandy"
Cassandra "Sandy" Looney age 50 of Dover died March 9, 2008 after a lengthy battle of over 12 years with cancer.
Born in Charleston, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Irene M. Grant Looney of Dover. Ms. Looney had moved to the Dover area in 1969 and had worked as a waitress for most of her working life and had served as Dining Mgr. at Wild Quail until illness forced her retirement. Sandy will be remembered as a person who enjoyed shopping and yard sales and was one who treasured the company of family and friends and especially moments spent with her 2 nieces that she so dearly loved. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Besides her father she was predeceased by a sister Patti Looney Precourt. Along with her mother she is survived by 2 sisters, Terri Looney of Perryville, MD, twin sister, Cynthia Hinkle and her spouse Charles who was a dear and loving brother-in-law of Magnolia, DE; 2 nieces, Danielle Precourt of Woodbridge, DE, Amy Piolunek of Dover, DE; 2 dear friends, Norman Lee of Dover, DE, Barbara Thorton of Perryville, MD; and her dog "Baby".
Services will be held Friday, Mar. 13, 2009 at 1:30 pm at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso 1175 S. State St. Dover where friends may call starting at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover, DE.
