Debra (Mulrooney) Vickers, of Dagsboro, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 24, 2018. She was born the daughter of Jeanne (Orga) Mulrooney and Martin J. Mulrooney, III in Wilmington, Delaware on August 23, 1954.

Debbie was a graduate of the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. While she was a nurse, she worked in the St. Francis Infectious Disease Unit, Williamsburg Hospital ICU, Beebe ER and finally in advanced home health care in the pharmaceutical field. Debbie was an accomplished scuba diver and was a dive instructor for several years. She was absolutely in love with the Caribbean and she spent many months in the Florida Keys and at her home in the Dominican Republic. Debbie taught her son to be a scuba diver and to love all things related to the ocean. Her role of mother to her son, Jake, was her greatest joy and she loved him dearly.

Debra is survived by her father Martin J. Mulrooney, III , Her son, Jacob R. Vickers, four sisters, Jeanne M. McClafferty (Paul), Eileen M. Leach (Philip), Margaret M. Mulrooney (Mark Hermes) and Nora K. Mulrooney, and one brother, Michael P. Mulrooney (Sue). She was preceded in death by her mothers, Jeanne (Orga) Mulrooney and Patsy (Cook) Mulrooney and nephew, Christopher P. McClafferty.

Debbie's family wishes to send a very special thank you to the Griswold Home Care Aides, Suzette, Goldie, Donequa and Diane and the Compassionate Care staff, Stephanie, Amanda, Bobbie and Shauna for the gentle, loving care they provided throughout Debbie's illness.

All services are private. The family requests no flowers.
