Isabel Thomas Obituary
AGE: 88 • Galena
Isabel 'Becky' Manlove Thomas, 88 of Galena, MD, died December 9, 2015 in Calvert Manor Nursing Home. Becky was born on March 8, 1927, daughter of the late Joseph Edgar and Isabel Clark Manlove. She was a 1946 graduate of St. Mary's College, St. Mary's City, MD and worked for Johns Hopkins University. In 1955 she moved to Pittsburgh, PA and returned to Maryland in 1976. Becky was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and served on the Vestry. She also did volunteer work with the Red Cross in Elkton. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Orth.
She is survived by her daughters, Laurie Shockley of Clayton, DE and Sally Smith and her husband Smitty of Galena, MD; a brother, William C. Manlove and his wife Mary of Earleville; 2 sisters, Katharine M. Jester of Chesapeake City, MD, and Emily M. Manlove of Cecilton; three step grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren.
The family will welcome friends on Sunday, December 13 from 12 to 1pm in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 10 Glebe Rd. Earleville, where a memorial service will be held at 1 pm. Burial will be held privately prior to visitation in adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Memorial Fund at St. Stephen's, 10 Glebe Rd. Earleville, MD. 21919
