John Smock Obituary
AGE: 51 • Newark
John H. Smock, age 51, of Newark, DE, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 24, 2014.
John was a very friendly and caring man who was willing to do anything for anyone. He held a special place in his heart for the Lord. In his spare time he enjoyed going to auctions and oil painting. John was very mechanically inclined and a talented carpenter.
John is survived by his sister, Suzanne Caso and her husband, John; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, John "Jack" and Hilda Smock; sister, Barbara Goodchild; and his beloved dog, Rudy.
A visitation will be held from 5:30-7:00 PM on Friday, September 26, 2014 in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702 followed by a memorial service in celebration of John's life at 7:00 PM. Burial will be private. In leu of flowers, donations may be made to Love of Christ Church, 2157 Bear Corbitt Road, Bear, DE 19701.
