Stephen Nepa Obituary
Stephen A. Nepa, 56 of New Castle, DE, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 18, 2011.
Stephen was born in Wilmington on January 26, 1955 and was a graduate of Salesianum School. He possessed a strong and dedicated work ethic, having started working with his father during his teenage years renovating and remodeling homes. He was truly a "jack of all trades" and could build almost anything that was requested of him. Stephen owned and managed his own properties and was also employed with Verizon.
Stephen enjoyed a variety of hobbies throughout his life. He was a talented wood worker and an occasional hunter. He loved a good card game and bowling. He would also relax by reading, solving puzzles and playing on his computer. His greatest joy was spending time with his beloved family.
A loving and devoted husband, father and PopPop, Stephen is survived by his wife, Lillian L. (Young) Nepa; his children, Stephen A. Nepa, Jr., Michelle L. Nepa, Vincent H. Nepa and Katelyn (Young) Pautler; and his grandchildren, Shaun A. Krutz and Kayleigh R. Krutz. He is also survived by his mother, Vera (Decino) Nepa; and many cousins and friends. Stephen will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Stephen was predeceased by his daughter, Danielle Nepa; his father, Vito R. Nepa, II, his brother, Vito R. Nepa, III; his sister and brother-in-law, Gail M. Cullen and Will Cullen; and his nephew, Vito R. Nepa, IV "Lil V".
Friends may visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Friday, December 23 from 11:00AM - 12:30PM. A funeral service will begin at 12:30PM. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations in memory of Stephen to the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research, 122 S. Michigan Ave., #1700, Chicago, IL 60603, or Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Rd., Wilm., DE 19810 or the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, New Castle, DE 19720.

Stephen, Michelle, Vincent and Allison hold tight to each other and the many many many memories we all have of your Dad. He is finally at peace and able now to rest. He will forever be watching over you all and bursting with pride at the amazing people you have all become. Nothing was more important to him than his kids. (Hopefully he is sharing CHUNKY Bars.... yea probably NOT !!) I love you all so very much, words just don't seem to be enough.

I knew the day would come, but this is really hard for me not seeing my baby, Stephen was such a good guy. I will never forget him, he will always be a part of my life.
