Vasilios Christou Obituary
On Friday, February 12, 2021, Vasilios ("Bill") Christou, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife, Alexandra; his two children and their spouses, Christos and Evi Christou and Demetra and Gregory Kiriakou; and his cherished grandson, Thomas Kiriakou. He is also survived by his sisters, Meni and Eleni; his brother, Soulis; and admired cousins, nieces and nephews.
Vasilios was born in the small village of Skra, Greece. After his dedicated military service, he moved to Thessaloniki where he started a custom carpentry business with his brother. There, he met Alexandra and together, they emigrated to the United States. With his brothers-in-law, John and George, he expanded Pat's Pizzeria into Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Vasilios leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication to family, and a strong commitment to philanthropy. Through his spirit of generosity, he touched the lives of everyone around him.
Services will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 808 North Broom Street, Wilmington, Delaware 19805. Open viewing will take place from 10-11 am and a private funeral service will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests contributions to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Capital Building Fund in his memory. www.holytrinitywilmington.org
