Jack A. Winder

1935 - 2016

Jack A. Winder, 80, of Harleysville, PA, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away August 27, 2016. He was the husband of Carolyn (Riccio) Winder who passed away in 2015. Born October 5, 1935 in Wilmington, DE, he was a son of the late Warren and Winifred (Hackett) Winder. He was a graduate of Brown Vocational High School. Mr. Winder was a barber at Continental Barber Shop in New Castle, DE for ten years. He then became employed by Atlas Point and I.C.I. Americas for 30 years, retiring in 1991. Mr. Winder was a member of the New Castle Jaycees and the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation. He was an avid golfer and a fan of the Phillies. He enjoyed working on cars. Surviving are two sons, Daniel Winder (Nancy) of Media, PA, and John “Jack” Winder (Kathy) of Towamencin Twp, PA. He is also survived by four grandchildren, John, Anthony, Samantha and Michael; and three step grandchildren, Albert, Thomas and Nicoletta. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by six siblings: Lillian Wagner, Verna Stawicki, and Warren, Elwood, Charles and Robert Winder. Services will be private for the immediate family at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. of Skippack, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Montgomery Co.
