Martha Jane “Murph” Styer, 78, of Ocean City, NJ, and formerly of Lansdowne, PA passed away on December 29, 2020. Born on October 8th, 1942 in Upper Darby, PA, she was the daughter of William C. and Jeannette (nee Whittaker) Meade. Martha was the beloved wife of Paul Styer; loving mother to Catherine Lynam (Jim), Timothy Styer (Alicia) and Thomas Styer; devoted grandmother of Jeannette, James Paul, Timothy, Marissa, Matthew, Tanna, Thomas, Brendan and honorary grandchild, David Bussard. Martha is predeceased by her brother William Meade. Martha’s kind and compassionate nature drove her in the education field. She worked at Penn Wood High School where she was a teacher and served as Athletic Director. Martha lived a very active lifestyle. She loved to travel especially between her homes in Ocean City, NJ and Hatteras, NC. Martha could often be found out playing golf, Pickleball or Bridge with friends. She was also a member of the Delaware County Athletic Hall of Fame. Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Providence Animal Center at 555 Sandy Bank Road in Media, PA 19063 made out in Martha’s name would be greatly appreciated. So sorry to learn of Murph’s passing. I have fond memories of their home on Ardmore Ave and babysitting Cathy Jean, Timmy, and Tommy while Murph & Paul taught nights or had night school. Murph always offered her energetic genuine smile and had such character. Loved everything about her. So thankful we saw each other in OCNJ a year ago. Deepest sympathies to all. RIP Murph.

Murph was one of the most welcoming, kind, funny, inclusive and spirited women that I’ve ever had the honor of knowing. I’m so sorry that we lost touch over the past years. My memories of her are only wonderful! From Ardmore Ave parties, to shopping for Cathyjean, Tim and Tommy at Christmas to all the darn dogs!! And especially a Styer pour in the wineglass!! My heart is full of all of those thoughts and I wish I could give each of you a hug!! Take care Paul, love, Linda and Jeffrey.
